Mike Singleton's Lords of Midnight (LOM) and Doomdark's Revenge (DDR) were the two most playable adventure games for ZX Spectrum.
With only 48K, they allowed the player to be immersed in a Tolkien like graphic adventure, for endless hours.

They told about the fate of Luxor the Moonprince in his quest against Doomdark, the evil wizard in the lands of Midnight, and later, against his daughter, Shareth the Heartstealer, in the lands of Icemark.

The fortress of Kahangrorn is Shareth's personal stronghold.

Shareth exists. I found her. She has ice eyes. Obviously.

Following the unsuccessful PC revival attempt by the author Mike Singleton to produce a LOM III , there were some dark years in the nineties, until Internet showed up. Then, the legions of admirers gathered in a Yahoo! group, and Chris Wild started the PC conversion for LOM. A new era was beginning.

Nowadays, we are beyond.

Here goes the list of the current Midnight development projects under construction, no special order:

Next  is one of the most laughable posts to the Midnight group in 2002

You have never heard of a Sinclair Spectrum or C64. The idea of a
computer consisting of nothing but a rubber keyboard is beyond
you.... ans loading anything by a cassette tape that can take three
to four minutes is just someone telling a bad joke.....

Now you all know that these things really did happen. You also know
why the Lords of Midnight, and therefore the Midnight Engine look
like they do..... But these were the very problems I came up against
just yesterday when my 12 year old daughter wanted to know why I kept
playing this 'funny looking game'. She wanted to know how to play it
and sat with me for a good hour while I made a complete mess of my
strategy on the Midnight Engine.

However, she has got some idea how it works now... but insists that
it's far more complicated than 'The Sims' (of which is now occupying
a massive 2.5 to 3 GB on my hard drive!!). Praise inded from the next
generation of a game written in 48k some 18 years ago.

Proof once again that Mike Singleton came up with something way ahead
of the times competition. Also, have I possibly just introduced the
first interested female into the the land of Midnight!?

Last, but not least, here is a nice novel wrote by myself during a passionate time, based on known characters and on the Mike Singleton's chronicles.

The Ever Changing Book of Names

The software lies below. With it, you can create hundreds of naames for Adventures, based on the naming rules for Midnight, or for other types of literature like Tolkien, Viking, Latin, etc. Amazing. Try it!
